The General English course is 15 hours per week every morning starting at 09:30 and finishing at 13:00 with a coffee break at 11:00.

We study from a range of topics including:
Language and learning skills, Cambridge and the UK, Personality, Jobs and Unemployment, Education, Science, Food, Leisure and Sport, Money, Literature, Travel and Tourism, History and Politics, Humour and the Weird and Wonderful, Colour and Style, Values and Beliefs, Environment and the Natural World, The Body and Health, Homes and Buildings, Families and Relationships, Number and Time, Crime and Punishment Art and Music, Problems and Dilemmas, Current Affairs and the Media and many others over 24 weeks.

As we study these topics we learn grammar, vocabulary and pronunciation and we practise our reading, writing and speaking skills.

Students on the General English Course can join any or all of the social activities where they can practise their speaking skills and enjoy some sporting, cultural and leisure activities. The social activities programme is often linked to the morning topics. So if we are studying Crime and Punishment we may go and observe a trial in the Court, if we are studying Art we may go to an Art gallery and if we are studying food we may have International Cooking or we may visit a restaurant or pub.
